Savings Fraction

Savings Fraction
The percentage of consumption from using the old technology that can be saved by replacing it with the new, more efficient demand-side management technology. For example, if a 60-watt incandescent lamp were replaced with a 15-watt compact fluorescent lamp, the savings fraction would be 75 percent because the compact fluorescent lamp uses only 25 percent of the energy used by the incandescent lamp.
