The component of electric power that performs work, typically measured in kilowatts (kW) or megawatts(MW) -sometimes referred to as Active Power. The terms "real" or "active" are often used to modify the base term "power" to differentiate it from Reactive Power and Apparent Power. See Apparent Power, Power, Reactive Power.
